Judging Criteria for the Innovation in STEM Award:
- Novelty: The nominee’s ability to create new and original solutions and ideas in their field of STEM, demonstrating their ability to think outside the box and push the boundaries of what is possible.
- Impact: The nominee’s ability to create projects and solutions that have a significant and meaningful impact on society, including their ability to address important societal needs and solve real-world problems.
- Technical proficiency: Evidence of the nominee’s exceptional technical skills and knowledge in their field of STEM, demonstrating their mastery of their subject matter.
- Project complexity: The nominee’s ability to work on challenging and complex projects, demonstrating their ability to tackle difficult problems and overcome technical obstacles.
- Problem-solving: The nominee’s ability to use scientific and technical knowledge to solve complex problems and create innovative solutions.
- Interdisciplinary skills: The nominee’s ability to work effectively with experts from a variety of fields and disciplines, demonstrating their ability to collaborate and bring together diverse perspectives to create innovative solutions.
- Presentation and communication: The nominee’s ability to communicate their innovative projects and solutions effectively to others, including their ability to present their projects in a clear and concise manner, and explain their thought processes and scientific methods.
The judges will use these criteria to evaluate the nominees and determine the winner of the Innovation in STEM Award.
