Girls in STEM Award

The Girls in STEM Award recognizes and celebrates female students who have demonstrated exceptional skills and aptitude in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This award is designed to inspire and encourage girls and young women to pursue careers in STEM and to support and celebrate their achievements in these fields.

The award is open to female students of all ages and skill levels who have developed a project or initiative related to STEM. Submissions can include projects, presentations, or activities that showcase the student’s skills and impact in the STEM field.

Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of experts, who will assess the student’s technical merit, originality, and overall impact in the STEM field. Winners will receive recognition and prizes, such as certificates, trophies, and opportunities to showcase their work to a wider audience.

The Girls in STEM Award is a unique opportunity for female students to showcase their skills and achievements in STEM and to receive recognition and support for their work. This award will encourage girls and young women to pursue careers in STEM and to continue to advance the field through their innovative work.

Judging Criteria for the Girls  in STEM Award:

  • Contribution to the field of STEM: The nominee’s impact on her chosen field of study, including any innovative research, projects, or publications.
  • Leadership and mentorship: Evidence of the nominee’s leadership qualities, including any mentorship or outreach initiatives to encourage and support other women in STEM.
  • Inspiration to others: The nominee’s ability to inspire and encourage others, especially young women, to pursue careers in STEM and to overcome challenges and obstacles in their careers.
  • Community involvement: Evidence of the nominee’s involvement in community or civic organizations that support STEM education and the advancement of women in STEM.
  • Career achievements: The nominee’s record of accomplishments, awards, and recognition in her field of study and her contributions to the advancement of STEM.
  • Diversity and inclusivity: The nominee’s efforts to promote diversity and inclusivity in STEM, including her advocacy for underrepresented groups in STEM.
  • Ambassadorship: The nominee’s ability to serve as a positive and influential ambassador for women in STEM and to promote the importance of STEM education and careers for women.

The judges will use these criteria to evaluate the nominees and determine the winner of the Girls in STEM Award. The award will be given to the nominee who best exemplifies these qualities and who has made a significant impact on the field of STEM and the advancement of girls in STEM.
