Judging Criteria for the Creative Coding Award in Primary School:
- Creativity: Evidence of the nominee’s creativity and imagination in using coding and computational thinking to solve problems and create innovative projects.
- Coding skills: The nominee’s ability to write and use code effectively, including their understanding of programming concepts, algorithms, and data structures.
- Project originality: The nominee’s ability to come up with original ideas and solutions for their coding projects, demonstrating their ability to think outside the box and solve problems in new and innovative ways.
- Problem-solving: The nominee’s ability to use coding and computational thinking to solve real-world problems and address important societal needs.
- Teamwork: The nominee’s ability to work effectively with others, including classmates, teachers, and mentors, to complete coding projects and advance their coding skills.
- Use of technology: Evidence of the nominee’s ability to use technology and digital tools effectively, including their ability to incorporate technology into their coding projects and use technology to enhance their learning and problem-solving abilities.
The judges will use these criteria to evaluate the nominees and determine the winner of the Creative Coding Award in Primary School. The award will be given to the nominee who best exemplifies these qualities and who has demonstrated exceptional skills and creativity in using coding and computational thinking to solve problems and create innovative projects.
